Telemedics Club is addressing healthcare challenges in rural Thailand, where access to medical services remains limited despite the public healthcare system being available to all. In rural areas, patients face long journeys to hospitals, with waits often exceeding an hour and a half, even for minor ailments.

In response, Ty Nilvichean and Kamisra Mahavanidvong, both 17, have partnered with telemedicine provider Clicknic to offer free bi-weekly consultations and medication to underserved communities.

Clicknic’s platform, capable of diagnosing and managing 42 common illnesses such as colds and skin infections, connects patients with licensed doctors through video consultations. This approach eliminates the need for travel to hospitals and reduces wait times. Once diagnosed, patients receive prescriptions, and medication is delivered to their door, ensuring timely care without the burden of travel costs.

Clicknic’s CMO, Sintorn Santitorn, supports this initiative, noting its potential to improve healthcare access nationwide. The club’s bi-weekly trips have visited areas like Wat Santi Thammaram and the Taling Chan Floating Market, directly helping those in need.

Telemedics Club’s partnership with Clicknic not only provides free medication but also builds stronger relationships between healthcare providers and rural communities. Clicknic’s CTO, Chaianan Satayapiwat, expressed pride in the students’ dedication to making a difference.

The initiative’s long-term goal is sustainability, with a focus on establishing regular healthcare services rather than one-off solutions. The club has collaborated with local leaders, medical professionals, and Clicknic staff to ensure the initiative’s continued success.

This consistent healthcare model aims to ease the strain on Thailand’s public healthcare system while delivering essential services to rural populations.

Telemedics demonstrates how technology can bridge the gap between urban healthcare resources and remote areas. By using telemedicine, the club is tackling systemic healthcare issues and making a lasting impact.

The students behind this initiative aim to expand their efforts, bringing accessible healthcare to even more rural regions. Ty Nilvichean is committed to making healthcare available to all, regardless of location. Through their efforts, the club is showing that healthcare can be both innovative and within reach.
