Bangchak Launches SAF Pipeline Delivery for Major Thai Airports
A pilot project to integrate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) into the pipeline system servicing Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports has begun, aiming to help the aviation sector achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
This initiative complies with ICAO and IATA standards, involving domestic and international airlines in the SAF alliance.
Bangchak Corporation’s Group CEO, Chaiwat Kovavisarach, joined by executives from Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services (BAFS) and BAFS Pipeline Transportation, inaugurated the project. The collaboration mixes SAF with Jet A1 fuel, preparing infrastructure for broader SAF usage.
Bangchak, through subsidiary BSGF Co., Ltd., has invested over THB 8.5 billion in producing SAF from used cooking oil. The SAF production unit at Bangchak Refinery is set to begin in early Q2 2025, with a daily capacity of 1 million litres.
