IRPC expands renewable energy efforts with a large-scale solar power project in Songkhla, reinforcing energy security.

IRPC Public Co., Ltd. (IRPC) is advancing renewable energy initiatives with a 74.88-megawatt solar power project in Chana District, Songkhla. Built on a 716-rai site, the plant will boost sustainable energy production in southern Thailand. IRPC Clean Power Company Limited (IRPCCP), a joint venture with Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC), is overseeing the project.

Terdkiat Prommool, IRPC’s President and CEO, confirmed the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has approved a concession for IRPCCP to operate under the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) program for 2022–2030. The project aligns with Thailand’s Power Development Plan (PDP2018 Rev.1) to expand renewable energy in the national grid.

The solar plant will supply electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) under a 25-year purchase agreement. Commercial operations are planned to start by 2028, with construction expected to take 12–15 months.

The project strengthens IRPC’s commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions and supports the PTT Group’s sustainability targets. It optimises land use, encourages regional economic growth, and ensures reliable energy through eco-friendly practices.

IRPCCP’s solar initiative underscores IRPC’s role in promoting clean energy and advancing Thailand’s sustainable development goals.
