ETIX Everywhere Invests 1 Billion Baht to Grow Data Centre Operations in Thailand
ETIX Everywhere completes full acquisition of ETIX Bangkok#1, expanding capacity to meet surging demand from global cloud and AI clients.
ETIX Everywhere is making a 1 billion baht investment to strengthen its data centre foothold in Thailand. The funds will be used to buy out Interlink Telecom’s shares in their joint venture and to construct an extension for the ETIX Bangkok#1 data centre. This move aligns with ETIX’s mission to become a significant player in Southeast Asia’s data centre industry.
The recent signing of a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) gives ETIX full control over ETIX Bangkok#1 by acquiring Interlink Telecom’s 33% stake. With full ownership, ETIX will add a 2 MW module to increase the data centre’s overall IT capacity to 4.7 MW.
ETIX entered Thailand’s market in January 2022 with a 67% stake in Genesis, which became ETIX Bangkok#1, initially offering 600 kW of IT capacity. Now, less than three years later, ETIX is expanding its capabilities to meet the rising demand, largely from international customers. Thailand’s data centre market is seeing rapid growth driven by the arrival of cloud providers and AI technology needs, creating a strong environment for expansion.
“Working with Interlink Telecom over the past three years has been a productive experience,” said Louis Blanchot, Group CEO of ETIX Everywhere. “This investment represents a new chapter for ETIX in Thailand, as we work toward establishing ourselves as a major data centre provider in Bangkok.”
Earlier this year, ETIX added a new module to ETIX Bangkok#1, which was expected to be fully utilized within three years but sold out in just three months. This rapid demand shows the strong growth potential in Thailand’s data centre sector.
Although Thailand’s market lags behind Malaysia and Indonesia, global cloud providers are driving a significant rise in supply and demand. With steady power infrastructure and reliable data centre providers, Thailand is increasingly appealing to international cloud and AI players.
“Our latest clients are primarily large international cloud, content, and AI providers,” said Pierre Patris, CEO Asia at ETIX Everywhere. “They require considerable colocation capacity, and while this new module will help, we’re also securing additional real estate to keep up with ongoing demand. These efforts position ETIX as a flexible, AI-ready data centre operator across Southeast Asia.”
Though still in an early growth phase, Thailand’s data centre market shows strong expansion potential. ETIX is preparing for this growth by enhancing capacity and service standards. New certifications for ETIX Bangkok#1, including ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 50001, and PCI DSS, affirm the company’s commitment to quality as it scales.
This investment aims to support Thailand’s growing data centre market and meet the infrastructure needs of global technology firms.
