Brighton College Bangkok to Launch New Campus in Vibhavadi by 2025
Thailand’s only three-time nominee for “International School of the Year,” Brighton College Bangkok, expands with a Vibhavadi campus.
Brighton College Bangkok is opening a new Vibhavadi campus in 2025, bringing its highly regarded British curriculum to a broader audience in Thailand. This expansion reflects the Assakul family’s dedication to exceptional education, with Nusara (Assakul) Banyatpiyaphod, Chair of the Brighton College Bangkok Board, reinforcing the school’s vision to nurture well-rounded students who excel academically and embrace both Thai and global cultures.
As an early proponent of British education in Thailand, Kris Assakul initially introduced the British curriculum in 1998 at St. Stephen’s International School. This new Vibhavadi campus builds on that legacy, strengthening Brighton College Bangkok’s reputation for academic excellence.
The Krungthep Kreetha campus has already earned significant recognition, including the “International School of the Year” award in 2024, marking it as the only school in Thailand to achieve three consecutive nominations.
“Our curriculum encourages curiosity, self-confidence, and kindness,” said Nusara. “We focus on both academic rigor and life skills, offering sports, performing arts, and public speaking to help students pursue their passions and develop essential skills.”
Brighton College prioritizes academic achievement as a cornerstone of its educational philosophy. The British curriculum is designed to engage students through detailed discussions and hands-on learning.
Core subjects are complemented by an integrated humanities curriculum covering history, geography, and literature, enhancing students’ analytical skills and bridging classroom lessons with real-life applications. Students also begin learning Mandarin early on, providing them with valuable global language skills.
The school has a track record of strong academic performance, with 80% of A-Level students achieving A*-A grades in 2023, and 47% of those attaining A*s. Many graduates advance to prestigious universities in the UK, Ivy League schools, and top institutions in Thailand. The Sixth Form curriculum offers 21 A-Level courses, enabling students to tailor their studies to their ambitions.
“We emphasize confidence and respect for both Thai and British cultures,” said Richard Cairns, Headmaster of the Brighton College Group. “Our students learn to appreciate traditions, etiquette, and the lasting connections between history and the modern world.”
Faculty members at Brighton College bring extensive expertise in areas like mathematics, history, and science, using innovative teaching methods to connect theory with real-world applications. “We nurture individual talents and strengths,” Nusara added, “fostering a learning environment that values each student’s unique abilities.”
Supported by a 1.4 billion baht investment, the Vibhavadi campus will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including dedicated spaces for arts, STEM, and sports. The campus will serve students from Early Years to IGCSE and A-Level, offering convenient access to families across Bangkok and providing a foundation for both academic and personal growth.
