We’re ready to collaborate with relevant parties to implement this robust alert system, which adheres to international standards and delivers warnings directly to all mobile phones in affected areas without pre-registration.

The system provides both audio and on-screen alerts, supports five languages (Thai, English, Chinese, Japanese, Russian), and includes text-to-speech options for visually impaired users, ensuring it reaches diverse groups.”

Mr. Pakornwut Udompipatskul, the Committee’s Vice-Chairperson, commented, “Cell Broadcast technology is crucial, especially in the face of emergencies like floods or other unexpected events.

A reliable alert system can help prevent loss of life and property. We’ve observed similar systems in countries such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia, and we anticipate the service will be operational here next year.”

The True Corporation CBS system includes five main highlights:

  • Language Support: Delivers alerts in multiple languages simultaneously.
  • Speed: Sends immediate alerts during emergencies.
  • Accuracy: Targets specific regions for message delivery.
  • Coverage: Reaches all phones in risk areas, with no need for registration.
  • Reliability: Proven effectiveness worldwide.

Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, NBTC, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), and the Meteorological Department, the CBS system uses AI technology at BNIC to manage disasters around the clock.

The committee also toured BNIC, which functions as a disaster management hub, enhancing True and dtac customer confidence in the CBS system’s capabilities. The CBS launch is expected in 2025 and marks a significant leap in Thailand’s disaster preparedness.
