Thailand Halal Assembly 2024 Showcases AI-Driven Innovations for Halal Growth
Global experts unite in Bangkok to drive Halal advancements with AI and digital solutions.
The 11th Thailand Halal Assembly 2024 (THA2024) took place in Bangkok, focusing on digital innovation and artificial intelligence to enhance Thailand’s Halal industry. Held at the Al Meroz Hotel from 19–20 December, the event was inaugurated by Akanat Promphan, Thailand’s Minister of Industry.
The assembly drew 985 attendees from 40 countries and 7,613 virtual participants from 34 nations, including China, Oman, Japan, South Africa, and the United States. It highlighted Thailand’s progress in Halal technology and its efforts to strengthen global trust through advanced AI applications.
Assoc Prof Dr Winai Dahlan, Director of the Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University and Chairman of THA2024, detailed two AI concepts shaping Halal standards:
Actual Implementation (AI): Focuses on Halal standardisation, HAL-Q systems, forensic testing, and innovation using human expertise to ensure compliance with Islamic guidelines.
Artificial Intelligence (AI): Utilises big data to improve production, reduce costs, and enhance credibility in Halal-certified products.
