TAT Launches Thailand Goosebumps Festival 2024: Faith-Based Thrills Await at Makkasan Factory

Bangkok, 26 October 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announces the spine-tingling “Thailand Goosebumps Festival 2024: Goosebump Market,” hosted at Makkasan Factory, Bangkok, from today through 31 October.

Under the IGNITE THAILAND’S TOURISM vision, this event aligns with the government’s quick-win policy to boost tourism and local economies. Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Surawong Thienthong, highlights the Goosebumps Festival’s focus on cultural heritage and faith-based tourism to drive economic growth during the low season.

Following successful editions in Chiang Mai and Ayutthaya, Bangkok’s Goosebumps Festival features 80+ local vendors, spread across 20,000 square meters, embodying Thailand’s rich cultural atmosphere. TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, emphasizes the festival’s role in stimulating local economies, with an expected revenue boost of over 300 million Baht from faith-based and thrill-seeking tourists.

SRT Governor, Mr. Weerasak Amrapala, notes that hosting the Goosebump Market at Makkasan Factory—a historic 435-rai site built in 1907—highlights SRT’s cultural significance while encouraging tourism-driven activities.

Open daily from 16:00 to 23:00 Hrs., the six-day festival features eight themed zones, spooky food, shopping, traditional fairs, and Halloween activities, including a costume contest on 31 October. Admission is free.
