Bangkok, 26 September 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is enhancing the experience for international visitors through the “Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges” project, running from 1 November to 16 December this year. This initiative offers exciting rewards and privileges across various tourism services in Thailand.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, stated, “In line with the government’s tourism stimulus policy, TAT continues to implement strategies and promotions to boost tourism recovery.

The ‘Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges’ project plays a crucial role in increasing tourist spending, particularly in Hidden Gem Cities, to meet this year’s target of 36.7 million international visitors.”

The project is a significant component of the “WOW! Thailand Passport Privileges” campaign, designed to increase tourism revenue, boost the economy, and enhance Thailand’s reputation as a top tourist destination.

These exclusive benefits are aimed at enriching the travel experiences of both short-haul tourists from countries like China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Malaysia, and long-haul tourists from markets such as the UK, US, Canada, and Europe.

The Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges project includes four exciting activities:

  1. “Must Do Souvenirs: From Heart to Hands” – 10,000 souvenirs will be given away to foreign tourists at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, and Phuket airports. These souvenirs are based on the ‘Must-Do in Thailand’ concept.

  2. “WOW Thailand: Must Do Package” – The first 10,000 registered tourists will enjoy discounts and special privileges at participating establishments throughout Thailand.

  3. “WOW Thailand: Lucky Number” – For every 10,000th tourist to Thailand (up to the 200,000th), a holiday package valued at 35,000 Baht will be awarded. In total, 20 packages worth 700,000 Baht are up for grabs, including domestic air tickets, accommodation discounts, and more.

  4. “WOW Thailand: Big Surprise!” – A grand prize valued at 300,000 Baht will be awarded to one lucky tourist who completes a questionnaire, selected through a random picker.

Mr. Chamnan Srisawat, President of the Tourism Council of Thailand, added, “The Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges project offers discounts and special deals at over 300 establishments, including department stores, shopping centres, airlines, hotels, restaurants, and health and beauty centres. Tourists can easily access these offers by presenting their passports.”

Participating businesses include Central Sriracha Shopping Mall, Sri Panwa Hotel, Phuket Luxury Pool Villa, Best Western Patong Beach Hotel, InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit, Masumi Spa Chiang Mai, Amara Bangkok, and Kacha Resort Koh Chang, among others.

Mrs. Saranya Boonyawattana, Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Airports of Thailand, said, “We’re proud to support the Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges project by providing designated areas at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, and Phuket airports for the souvenir giveaway booths. This initiative will surely encourage more tourists to visit Thailand.”

The Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges project is crucial to enhancing Thailand’s image, supporting the tourism industry, and driving economic recovery. Its engaging activities and offers are designed to increase tourism spending, with a goal of achieving a revenue target of 3.5 trillion Baht this year.
