TAT and EVA Air Renew Partnership to Boost Global Travel to Thailand
Four-Year Agreement to Expand Marketing Efforts and Tourism Campaigns
Bangkok, 19 November 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and EVA Air have extended their strategic partnership through a new four-year Letter of Intent (LOI), signed today in Bangkok. The agreement aims to enhance Thailand’s appeal in key international markets by leveraging EVA Air’s extensive global network.
Present at the signing ceremony were TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool and EVA Air’s Executive Vice President Albert Liao, alongside other senior representatives. The LOI was signed by TAT Deputy Governor Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai and EVA Air Vice President Tang Tseng.
TAT Governor Thapanee said the collaboration had successfully showcased Thailand’s unique culture and hospitality, adding that the renewed agreement would attract more travelers and strengthen the country’s position as a must-visit destination.
The partnership will focus on joint initiatives like marketing campaigns, familiarisation trips for travel professionals, attractive tour packages, and participation in global tradeshows and roadshows.
This renewal builds on past successes, including a 2023 tram campaign in Amsterdam promoting EVA Air’s Bangkok-Amsterdam flights, which garnered 21 million impressions. Additional highlights included Thai tourism promotions at South Korea’s BOOKIZCON 2024 and a networking event in Japan with 11 tourism partners.
EVA Air’s Executive Vice President Albert Liao expressed confidence in the partnership, emphasizing its role in presenting Thailand’s attractions to travelers across the airline’s global network through collaborative marketing and custom travel packages.
EVA Air, headquartered in Taipei and a Star Alliance member, serves 60 destinations worldwide. It operates 28 weekly flights between Bangkok and Taipei, with plans to increase this to 32 flights weekly from 15 January to 29 March 2025. The airline also connects Bangkok with Japan, South Korea, China, and Europe, including direct flights to London, Vienna, and Amsterdam, with additional connections via Taipei to Paris, Milan, and Munich.
For long-haul travel, EVA Air operates 87 weekly flights linking Thailand to major North American cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Toronto. This makes it a preferred carrier for North American visitors traveling to Thailand.
Known for its modern fleet and award-winning service, EVA Air has earned accolades like Condé Nast Traveler’s 2024 Readers’ Choice Award, recognition as a top 10 international airline by Travel + Leisure, and a SKYTRAX 5-Star Airline rating for nine consecutive years.
