C.P. Group has appointed Sigve Brekke, a prominent Norwegian business leader, as Executive Chairman of its Telecom and Digital Business Group. His tenure begins on March 1, 2025, reporting directly to C.P. Group CEO Suphachai Chearavanont.
Mr. Brekke will lead the group’s telecom and digital operations across Thailand and Southeast Asia, covering telecommunications, technology, data centres, digital finance, and related businesses. His expertise is expected to strengthen the group’s position in the digital and telecom sectors while supporting Thailand’s growth as a regional digital hub.
Highlighting the importance of this appointment, Suphachai Chearavanont stated, “Sigve Brekke’s extensive global experience in telecommunications and innovative leadership will accelerate our digital transformation journey. He will play a pivotal role in positioning C.P. Group as a global technology leader and contributing to Thailand’s digital economy.”
Mr. Brekke expressed his enthusiasm, acknowledging C.P. Group’s leadership in digital innovation and connectivity. He added, “I am honoured to work under Mr. Suphachai’s leadership to harness Southeast Asia’s potential and build a future-ready digital ecosystem in this transformative AI era.”
With nine years as President and CEO of Telenor Group, along with roles like CEO of Dtac in Thailand and Executive Vice President of Telenor Asia, Mr. Brekke brings unmatched experience in connectivity and digital innovation. He also served on GSMA’s board from 2017 to 2024, where he advanced global telecommunications efforts.
