ACES Awards 2024 recognizes Mitr Phol Group for leadership in sustainability and exceptional contributions to social and environmental progress.

Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation Limited, a global leader in sugar production, was honored with the Top Sustainability Advocates in Asia award at the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards 2024 (ACES Awards 2024). This award celebrates the company’s success in embedding sustainability into its operations, focusing on social responsibility and environmental stewardship.

Recognition for Excellence

Mr. Verajet Vongkusolkit, CEO of Thai Sugar, Energy, and New Business Group at Mitr Phol, accepted the award on the company’s behalf. The accolade reinforces the company’s leadership in sustainable business practices while highlighting its ongoing commitment to responsible growth.

Organized by MORS Group, the ACES Awards promote sustainability and business excellence across Asia. This year’s competition saw participation from 682 companies in the region, including over 88 Thai firms.

Mitr Phol’s recognition stems from significant milestones in key areas:

• Community Development: Through the Partnership School project, Mitr Phol supports education and youth empowerment. It also promotes inclusivity by creating job opportunities for individuals with disabilities, adapting training programs to suit their needs. The company’s Safe Vegetable Growing initiative enhances food security and strengthens local economies, generating over 3.3 million baht in 2023.

• Climate Action Leadership: Mitr Phol is targeting carbon neutrality by 2030 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Renewable energy from sugar production by-products, including biomass and ethanol, is a core component of its strategy. Notable projects include the Mitr Phol Dan Chang facility, Thailand’s first carbon-neutral industrial complex.
