The government will hold the Samamongkol Royal Ceremony on Tuesday to honor His Majesty the King as he reaches the milestone age of 26,469 days, matching that of King Rama I, founder of the Chakri Dynasty, at the time of his passing.
In light of this event, the Secretariat of the Cabinet has rescheduled this week’s cabinet meeting to Monday. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has invited the public to join in the celebrations, which include the Sueb Chata Luang Ceremony at Saranrom Park and Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram in Bangkok, running from this Monday through next Monday.
To commemorate the occasion, Wat Sangkat Rattana Khiri in Uthai Thani is being restored, and a khon performance portraying the Ramakien epic will take place at the King Rama I Monument near the Phra Phutthayotfa Bridge.
Additionally, commemorative coins are being issued to honor His Majesty, while religious ceremonies will be conducted at various sites connected to King Rama I. A tree-planting activity at the King Rama IX Memorial Park in Bangkok will further symbolize the nation’s gratitude and respect.
Tuesday’s milestone not only celebrates His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua but also honors the Chakri Dynasty’s enduring legacy and the profound contributions of past monarchs to Thailand.
