CP LAND Earns ACES 2024 Award for “Solar Cell for Life” Project

CP LAND

Award-winning initiative brings solar power to rural Thailand, boosting safety, livelihoods, and sustainable growth.

CP LAND Public Company Limited received the Community Initiative Award at the 2024 ACES Awards, hosted by MORS Group. This accolade recognises the company’s groundbreaking “Solar Cell for Life” project, which introduced solar-powered streetlights to Kiriwong Village in Nakhon Si Thammarat, improving safety, quality of life, and economic opportunities in underserved areas. CP LAND is the first real estate firm in Thailand to achieve this honour.

The project, led by CEO Keerati Satasook, focused on enhancing rural living conditions by installing 80 solar streetlights across a 5-kilometre stretch. These lights have improved transportation safety, supported tourism, and facilitated local economic growth. The initiative aligns with CP LAND’s philosophy, “Accessible Communities for Life,” which promotes sustainable development across Thailand.

The project’s inspiration stems from the challenges faced by Kiriwong Village, a community known for agriculture but hindered by limited electricity. The solar installation not only resolved energy access issues but also showcased a model for sustainable energy solutions in rural settings.

Strategic Committee Member Sasinan Allmand highlighted the collaboration with local authorities and private partners to bring this vision to life. The efforts were featured in the “Happiness is All Around” campaign starring Thai singer Singto Namchok, which gained attention on social media in 2022.

The ACES Awards Judging Committee, led by Dr. Shanggari Balakrishnan, praised CP LAND for integrating innovation and sustainability to create long-lasting community benefits. The award evaluation considered factors like community impact, resource allocation, employee involvement, and project success.

Following the success at Kiriwong, CP LAND expanded the “Solar Cell for Life” project in 2024 to additional rural areas, including Noen Maprang in Phitsanulok and Si Chomphu in Khon Kaen. These projects continue to enhance rural living conditions and promote clean energy. CP LAND remains committed to sustainable development under its vision of “Accessible Communities for Life.”
