Bosch received the Prime Minister’s Road Safety Award at the 16th National Academic Road Safety seminar. Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presented the award in acknowledgment of Bosch’s contributions to improving road safety in Thailand.

Since 2018, Bosch has been running the “Road Safety Improvement” initiative. This project uses Bosch’s expertise in traffic accident research and vehicle safety systems to modernize Thailand’s accident investigation methods. The program aims to identify key causes of accidents, such as infrastructure flaws, education gaps, and vehicle safety issues, enabling better solutions to reduce accidents and fatalities.

In 2023, Thailand recorded 808,127 traffic-related injuries and 14,094 fatalities, according to Thai RSC data. Bosch believes tackling the root causes of accidents is crucial to improving road safety.

Thomas Lich, Bosch’s senior expert and global accident research team leader, said, “We are proud to be recognized for promoting safer roads. Our vision is a future where every vehicle has advanced safety systems. Sharing accident research insights allows others to adopt technologies that prevent accidents and raise road safety standards.”

Bosch’s methodology is modeled after the German In-Depth Accident Study (GIDAS), a globally recognized standard for traffic accident research.

Over the last seven years, Bosch Thailand has trained government agencies in accident data collection and collaborated with local universities on brake system research. These efforts have enhanced technical expertise and improved safety in hazardous road areas.
