Bangkoktellink Offers Free Internet for Marginalised Groups
Partnership with Thai government agencies provides online access to disabled individuals and underprivileged students.
Bangkoktellink, a mobile network operator focused on social responsibility, has teamed up with three major Thai government organisations to deliver free internet services to disabled individuals and disadvantaged students. This initiative aims to enhance educational and personal development opportunities for these groups.
Led by CEO Natthakrit Sasiarnon, the company has partnered with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, and the Equitable Education Fund (EEF). These collaborations focus on improving digital access for marginalised communities.
Two main projects have been launched under this programme:
- Internet Services for Disabled Individuals: Supporting 1.1 million people with disabilities.
- Internet Services for Underprivileged Students: Assisting 357,000 students across the country.
The NBTC has allocated 935,394,000 baht to fund these initiatives, ensuring uninterrupted online access for eligible participants.
