Bangkok Earns Spot in National Geographic’s Best of the World 2025

Bangkok Named Among Top 25 Global Destinations for 2025 by National Geographic

Bangkok, 25 October 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) proudly announces Bangkok’s inclusion in National Geographic’s Best of the World 2025 list. Selected by National Geographic’s editorial teams, Bangkok stands out for its vibrant atmosphere, iconic street food, historic temples, and lively markets, offering a unique experience for travelers seeking adventure and relaxation alike.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, commented, “It’s an honour for Bangkok to be part of National Geographic’s annual list of must-see destinations. This recognition celebrates Bangkok’s unique blend of old-world charm and modern energy that continues to captivate visitors.”

Bangkok’s accolade adds to Thailand’s reputation as a premier travel destination. National Geographic, after a thorough nomination and review process, highlighted Bangkok among the top travel destinations for 2025. In its announcement on NatGeo.com/BestOfTheWorld, titled “The 25 Best Places in the World to Travel to in 2025,” National Geographic praised Bangkok as an “intoxicating mix of old and new,” with its glittering skyscrapers, upscale shopping centers like Siam Center, luxury hotels, and its growing art scene through events like the Bangkok Art Biennale and the Bangkok International Film Festival.

National Geographic also noted Bangkok’s role as a gateway to Thailand’s cultural heritage, spotlighting Wat Chaiwatthanaram, a 17th-century Buddhist temple in nearby Ayutthaya. Restoration efforts, including 3D scanning and flood-protection measures, aim to preserve this monument and showcase Thailand’s historical treasures.
