Over 1,500 Participants Run for a Greener Future at Vietjet Thailand’s Fly Green Charity Event
Vietjet Thailand’s charity run raises funds for the Chaipattana Foundation, supporting environmental projects and sustainability efforts in Bangkok.
More than 1,500 runners gathered at Vachirabenjatas Park in Bangkok on 2 November 2024 for Vietjet Thailand’s “Fly Green Charity Run 2024.” This eco-friendly event aimed to support the Chaipattana Foundation’s environmental initiatives, aligning with Vietjet’s commitment to conservation and sustainable practices.
Vietjet’s “Fly Green Fund” hosted its second charity run, furthering its flagship program dedicated to environmental support. The event, officiated by former Tourism and Sports Minister Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul and Vietjet Thailand’s Vice President of Operations, Mr. Sathirawat Ponnark, emphasized the airline’s goal to combat pollution and reduce global warming. Mr. Sathirawat expressed gratitude to participants, saying, “This charity run helps us continue our environmental mission while contributing to a greener future.”
All proceeds from the run will benefit the Chaipattana Foundation, with plans to plant 100,000 trees by year’s end. To further support sustainability, the event presented finishers with medals made from recycled plastic bottle caps shaped like leaves, symbolizing the airline’s eco-friendly goals and commitment to lowering its carbon footprint.
Since 2021, Vietjet Thailand’s “Fly Green Fund” has launched various eco-conscious initiatives, including the “Garbage Hunter” clean-up campaign, “Fly Green Charity Golf Day,” “Fly Green Metro Forest” project to boost urban greenery, and “Vietjet Fly Green Charity Concert,” which combines environmental awareness with fundraising.
