FutureEd Fest 2024: Shaping the Future of Learning Through Innovation

FutureEd Fest 2024, organized by Starfish Education, returned for its second year on 5th October 2024 at the Central Postal Building in Bangkok. This year’s theme, “EduInnovate: Crafting the Future of Learning,” attracted over 2,000 participants and featured educational innovations aimed at preparing learners for future workplaces.

Key partners included government agencies like the Office of the Secretary-General of the Education Council, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and other notable organizations such as the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), Thai PBS, and more than 30 public and private sector bodies, schools, and universities.

Building on last year’s success, the event showcased Maker Education, technology-driven educational tools, and skill development programs. The festival included 23 workshops, 6 panel sessions, 7 keynote speeches, 12 exhibitions, and a student pitching competition for innovative ideas. Highlights included the Thailand Future Ed Awards, which recognized 10 outstanding teachers and schools for their contributions to modern education.

Dr. Nanthaporn Janchalia Seributra, CEO of Starfish Education, emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, noting that adaptability and personalized education are critical for success in an increasingly technology-driven world.

In a keynote speech, Dr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Education, stressed the need for education to be flexible and supportive of students’ dreams, urging that it should foster safe environments for children to explore their aspirations.

The event featured a wide range of activities, including a Maker Fest showcasing innovative projects, community learning networks at the Meet-Up Café, and hands-on workshops. A total of 17 finalist teams from over 200 applicants competed in the student pitching competition, while 22 partner organizations worked together to bring the event to life.
